SPENCER – Loyal outscored Spencer 17-2 in the first quarter and cruised to a 52-24 win in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball matchup Friday night at Spencer High School.
Spencer shot just 25 percent (10 of 40 from the field) and committed 20 turnovers in the loss.
The Rockets are now 3-12 overall and 2-11 in the Cloverbelt East. Loyal improves to 13-3 and 10-3 in the conference.
Loyal led by 15 after one quarter and pushed its lead to 30-7 by halftime.
Karly Bump had eight points and Sydney Kind added seven points and five rebounds for Spencer.
Morgan Reinwand led Loyal with 19 points.
Spencer plays at Rib Lake on Monday.
