Blake Anderson scores 26 points as Auburndale boys basketball drills Pittsville

AUBURNDALE – Blake Anderson hit 7 of 9 3-pointers and scored a career-high 26 points, lifting the Auburndale boys basketball team to a 65-25 rout of Pittsville on Friday night at Auburndale High School.

Auburndale outscored Pittsville 28-7 over the middle two quarters and went on a 21-5 run in the fourth to blow past the Panthers and clinch at least a tie for its fourth-straight Marawood Conference South Division title.

The Apaches improve 17-1 overall and 12-0 in the Marawood South. Pittsville is now 5-13 and 2-9 in the conference. Auburndale can clinch the outright conference title next Thursday at Marathon.

Josh VanShoick added 13 points and five rebounds, and Alex Marth had a team-high nine rebounds for the Apaches.

Overall, Auburndale made 10 of 22 3-pointers and shot 50 percent (24 of 48) from the field.

Auburndale plays Platteville in a nonconference game at Wisconsin Dells on Saturday.
