WAUSAU – McKayla Scheuer drilled six 3-pointers and Caitlin Michaelis had 12 points, 11 assists and four steals to lead the Marshfield girls basketball team to a 65-29 rout of Wausau East in a Wisconsin Valley Conference matchup Friday night at East High School.
Scheuer was 6 of 8 from 3-point range and Michaelis added a pair from long range for the Tigers, who improve to 10-7 overall and 7-2 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. East remains winless at 0-15 and 0-8 in the conference.
Michaelis’ 12 points pushed her career total to 795 and moves her into eighth place on the all-time Marshfield girls basketball scoring list. Michaelis passed Liz Kreig for eighth. Kreig scored 794 points during her career from 1999-2003.
Marshfield forced 18 turnovers and held East to just 11 of 31 shooting.
The Tigers hosts Eau Claire North on Tuesday.
