MARSHFIELD – Marshfield scored twice in the first period and went on to a 3-0 shutout of Medford in a Great Northern Conference girls hockey matchup Monday night at the Marshfield Youth Ice & Recreation Arena.
Kessa Schreiner and Morgan Larson each scored in the first period and Nell Eichten added another goal in the third to provide the scoring for the Tigers, who improve to 6-13 overall and 6-7 in the Great Northern Conference with the victory.
Medford is now 2-19 and 1-12 in the conference.
Alexis Straughan only had to save 14 goals for Marshfield, which dominated play. The Tigers held a 28-14 shot advantage over the Raiders.
Marshfield closes out its regular season on Thursday at home against Tomahawk. The Tigers will play at Point/Rapids in Wisconsin Rapids in a WIAA regional final on Feb. 20.
