GREENWOOD – Marshfield Columbus Catholic jumped out to a big lead early and cruised to a 63-50 win over Greenwood in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division boys basketball game Tuesday night at Greenwood High School.
Jared Fleischmann scored 21 points and Jacob Puent added 11 for the Dons, who have won five straight and are now 15-4 overall and 13-3 in the Cloverbelt East.
Columbus remains a game behind Owen-Withee for first place in the conference with two games remaining. The Dons host Owen-Withee on Friday. The game will be broadcast on WOSQ-FM 92.3 and wdlbwosq.com starting with the pregame show at 7:10 p.m.
Columbus led 23-9 after the first quarter. Greenwood cut the Dons’ lead to 10 at halftime but Columbus was able to maintain its double-digit advantage in the second half.
Dillon Serocki led Greenwood (6-12, 5-10 Cloverbelt East) with 12 points.
