Marshfield girls basketball routs Eau Claire North, wins fifth straight

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls basketball team held Eau Claire North to 11 of 40 shooting and forced 16 turnovers as it rolled past the Huskies 63-36 in a nonconference game Tuesday night at The Boson Company Fieldhouse at Marshfield High School.

Caitlin Michaelis scored 15 points, Ellie Kummer added 13 and Ellie Fehrenbach had 10 for the Tigers, who improve to 11-7 after posting their fifth-straight win.

Michaelis was 3 of 4 and Kummer went 3 of 5 from 3-point range.

Marshfield outscored the Huskies 18-9 in both the second and third quarters to pull away.

The Tigers have scored over 60 points the past two games after not having done so all season up to that point.

Briquelle Neyens had 15 points for Eau Claire North (9-9).

Marshfield plays at Wisconsin Rapids on Friday as part of a girls-boys doubleheader. The girls game starts at 6 p.m., with the boys to follow at approximately 7:45 p.m. Both games will be broadcast on WDLB-AM 1450 and wdlbwosq.com.
