STRATFORD – Eli Temanson scored 23 points and had six steals to lead the Stratford boys basketball team to a come-from-behind 62-55 win over Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Thursday night at Stratford High School.
Temanson was 7 of 14 from the field and made 8 of 10 free throws to lead the Tigers.
Stratford trailed 29-23 at halftime before outscoring the Royals 39-26 in the second half.
Michael Bargender added eight rebounds and Jeremiah Hubing, A.J. Strasser and Jake Reif each had eight points for Stratford (7-9, 7-5 Marawood South).
Josh Paltz made 9 of 12 from the free throw line and finished with 20 points for Assumption (7-12, 5-7 Marawood South).
Both teams did major damage at the free throw line. Stratford was 19 of 31, while Assumption was 18 of 25.
Stratford plays at Assumption on Saturday in a make-up game for a contest that postponed on Jan. 7 and again on Jan. 27.
