GILMAN – Marisa Johnson was 6 of 6 from the free throw line and finished with a game-high 16 points to lead the Spencer girls basketball team to a 41-31 win over Gilman in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Thursday night at Gilman High School.
Johnson also was 5 of 8 from the field and had five steals for the Rockets, who improve to 5-12 overall and 3-11 in the Cloverbelt East.
Gilman drops to 3-14 and 2-13 in the conference.
Spencer ended up 12 of 18 at the free throw line in the win.
The Rockets jumped out to a 12-3 lead after the first quarter and led 24-9 at halftime.
Spencer hosts Augusta on Saturday.
