WHITEWATER – Marshfield High School graduates Michelle Theisen and Kelsey Weigel earned all-conference recognition by placing in the top three at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Meet last weeked at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Theisen, a senior for UW-Stout, placed second in the shot put, and Weigel, a senior for UW-Eau Claire, was third in the heptathlon. Weigel was also UW-Eau Claire’s representative on the All-Sportsmanship Team for the meet.
Theisen had a shot put of 46-4¼ to finish second behind Jecel Klotz of UW-Oshkosh (49-9 ¼). Theisen also placed 12th in the weight throw (49-3).
Weigel accumulated 3,000 points in the pentathlon to finish third, 289 points behind Meagan Ward of UW-Stout. In the pentathlon events, Weigel was third in the shot put, fourth in the long jump, fifth in the high jump, and seventh in the 60-meter hurdles and 800. Weigel was 12th in the regular shot put event (38-10 ½).
