MADISON – The 2014 WIAA State Boys Basketball Tournament concluded Saturday, March 15, with five championship games at the Kohl Center in Madison.
Thorp (19-9) won the Division 5 championship with a 49-42 victory over Green Bay NEW Lutheran (27-2). It is Thorp’s first state title in boys basketball. It’s only other appearance at state was in 1992.
Whitefish Bay Dominican (25-3) won its third straight Division 4 state championship with a 74-50 rout of Blair-Taylor (23-4). Junior forward Diamond Stone had 28 points, 11 rebounds and eight blocked shots to lead the way for Dominican.
Germantown also won its third straight title, winning the Division 1 championship game over Neenah 48-42.
Brown Deer took the Division 3 title and Wisconsin Lutheran won in Division 2.
