GREEN BAY – The 2014 WIAA State Girls Basketball Tournament will wrap-up Saturday with five championship games at the Resch Center in Green Bay.
All of the tournament games will be televised live locally on WAOW-TV 9 of Wausau.
Barneveld completed a perfect season (28-0) with a come-from-behind 38-34 win over Wisconsin Rapids Assumption (26-3) in the Division 5 championship game. Barneveld outscored the Royals 17-9 in the fourth quarter to win its fifth state title and first since 2005. Assumption was the defending Division 5 state champs.
Cuba City (27-1) won its state-record 10th championship, beating defending champion Algoma 49-28 in the Division 4 title game.
Kettle Moraine Lutheran (27-1) edged Neillsville (27-1) 28-23 to win the Division 3 championship in its first-ever state tournament appearance. Neillsville was making its third-straight trip to state, having won in 2012 and lost in the semifinals last year.
In Division 2, Green Bay Notre Dame (27-1) beat DeForest (26-2) 54-42 to win its second-straight state championship.
Oak Creek (26-2) finished off the tournament with a 73-52 pounding of Superior (24-4) to win the Division 1 title and its first state championship in its fifth appearance.
