WISCONSIN DELLS – The Marshfield JV boys golf team had three top-10 finishes and ended up second at the 27-hole Wisconsin Dells JV Invitational on Monday at Trapper’s Turn Golf Course.
Marshfield finished with a score of 518, which was five shots behind team champion Waunakee.
Freshman Derek Michalski led the way for the Tigers, taking second overall with scores of 37, 42 and 45 for a total of 124, which was five shots off the lead.
Zach Shortess took fourth for Marshfield (41-42-43) with a 126, and Jordan Schlinsog tied for ninth (45-42-44) with a 131.
The Marshfield varsity will be at the Nekoosa Invitational on Thursday at Lake Arrowhead Golf Course, and will host a pentangular on Friday at RiverEdge Golf Course, along with the JV. Stevens Point, D.C. Everest, Wausau West and Wisconsin Rapids will compete at the event.
