SPENCER – The Spencer softball team rallied from a one-run deficit with six runs in the fifth and sixth innings to beat Loyal/Granton 8-4 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Tuesday at Spencer High School.
Loyal/Granton (0-2 overall and Cloverbelt East) led 3-2 after 4½ innings before the Rockets scored four times in the fifth and twice in the sixth to grab the victory.
Spencer improves to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference.
Marisa Johnson and Macie Weber each had two hits and Mandie Schultz added a double and two RBIs for Spencer.
Tynae Phillips earned the win for the Rockets, striking out eight and walking five in six innings.
Spencer hosts Colby on Thursday and Gilman on Friday in a pair of Cloverbelt East games.
