Auburndale baseball beats Edgar for first win of season

EDGAR – Blake Anderson had three hits and earned the save on the mound as the Auburndale baseball team won its first game of the year, defeating Edgar 8-4 in a Marawood Conference South Division game Friday at Edgar High School.

Auburndale scored four times in the first inning and never trailed, adding single tallies in the second through fifth innings.

Isaac Biehoffer grabbed the win, allowing three runs in four innings. Anderson finished up, giving up just one run in three innings of relief. Both pitchers struck out four and walked four the Apaches.

Paul Willfahrt walked three times, had a single and scored three times for Auburndale.

Auburndale is now 1-4 overall and 1-3 in the Marawood Conference South. Edgar falls to 1-2 overall and in the conference.
