Spencer baseball shuts down Augusta

SPENCER – Bobby Pilz struck out seven in five innings and Matt Ivacic earned the save to lift the Spencer baseball team to a 2-0 victory over Augusta in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division matchup Friday at Spencer High School.

Pilz scattered three hits and Ivacic was perfect in two innings of work for the Rockets, who improve to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the Cloverbelt East. Augusta is now 2-6 and 2-2 in the conference.

Calvin Lenz had an RBI single in the fourth inning and Mitchell Susa had an RBI single in the fifth to account for Spencer’s two runs.

Ben Grieser had two hits, including a double, for Spencer.
