Spencer baseball pulls past Owen-Withee

OWEN – Matt Ivacic threw five innings, striking out seven, and Spencer scored four runs in the top of the fifth inning to defeat Owen-Withee 6-2 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division baseball game Monday.

Spencer had nine hits and took advantage of 11 walks to grab the win and improve to 7-1 overall and 6-1 in the Cloverbelt East. Owen-Withee is now 2-3 overall and in the conference.

Owen-Withee had just two hits in the loss against Ivacic and Bobby Pilz.

Alex Brostowitz was 2-for-4 with a double for the Rockets.

Owen-Withee statistics were not provided.

Spencer returns to action Tuesday at home against Granton.
