PITTSVILLE – The Auburndale baseball team couldn’t hold on to an early lead and dropped an 11-5 decision to Pittsville in Marawood Conference South Division action Tuesday at Pittsville High School.
The Apaches scored all five of their runs in the top of the second inning and took a 5-2 lead.
Pittsville (7-2, 5-1 Marawood South) rallied with two runs in the bottom of the second and four in the third to take the lead for good.
Auburndale (1-6, 1-5 Marawood South) had six hits – two each from Logan Willfahrt and Blake Anderson. Willfahrt also drove in a pair of runs.
Isaac Biehoffer suffered the loss, giving up eight runs in 2 2/3 innings.
Pittsville statistics were not provided.
Auburndale hosts Pittsville on Thursday.
