STEVENS POINT – Josh Berres tied for meet medalist honors and the Marshfield boys golf team won the second leg of the Wisconsin Valley Conference Tournament by 12 shots over host Stevens Point on Tuesday at Stevens Point Country Club.
The Tigers finished with a 330, led by Berres, who tied Stevens Point’s Trevor Thomas for first place individually with a 79.
Berres had six birdies in his round, including four in a row on the back nine as he shot even-par 36 on the final nine holes.
Ian Pillai had a season-best round of 80 to take third place for the Tigers. Kyle Hoffman had an 84, Craig Serchen shot an 87 and Derek Michalski had an 89 as all five Marshfield golfers finished in the top 11.
The third leg of the WVC Tournament is Friday at Trapp River Golf Course in Wausau. Wausau East is the host.
