Columbus Catholic, Granton split Cloverbelt East baseball doubleheader

GRANTON – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic baseball team split a doubleheader with Granton on the road Thursday, winning 10-1 and losing 3-2.

The Dons are now 2-5 overall and in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division. Granton is 1-5 overall and in the conference.

Kienan McIntee was 5-for-5 and ripped two home runs in the Game 1 win for Columbus.

Jeremy Binder picked up the win for the Dons, allowing just two hits in five innings and striking out 11.

In Game 2, the Dons wereheld to one hit by Granton pitcher Kenny Pettit. The game was called after five innings.

Granton scored three times in the top of the first inning and held on the rest of the way to pick up its first victory of the season.

Columbus Catholic plays at Owen-Withee on Friday.
