D.C. Everest jumps on Marshfield baseball early to beat Tigers

WESTON – D.C. Everest handed the Marshfield baseball team its third loss in its last four games, beating the Tigers 7-1 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Thursday at D.C. Everest High School.

Everest (4-6, 2-4 WVC) scored two runs in the first and five more in the second against Marshfield starter Colton Zahradka.

The Tigers (8-5, 3-3 WVC) didn’t allow another run, but could only muster one run of their own.

Caleb Alexander was 3-for-4 with a triple for Marshfield.

The Tigers are back in action Monday at Wausau West.
