SPENCER – Spencer scored 11 run in the third inning of the first game and rolled to a doubleheader sweep of Owen-Withee, winning 12-0 and 13-1 in Cloverbelt Conference East Division softball action Thursday at Spencer High School.

Macie Weber earned the five-inning win, striking out seven and allowing just two hits.

Marisa Johnson and Brooke Kettleborough each had two hits, and Tynae Phillips had three RBis in the Game 1 victory.

“Macie is throwing the ball very well,” Spencer coach Jason Gorst said. “Her efficiency has been quite impressive.

“It took us a little while to get going, but we broke out pretty well in the third.”

Phillips struck out eight and gave up only one hit in the second game to pick up the victory.

Kettleborough scored three times as the Rockets had only six hits, but took advantage of 10 O-W errors and eight walks.

Spencer is now 9-2 overall and 7-0 in the Cloverbelt East.

The Rockets play Loyal/Granton at Loyal on Friday.
