Marshfield boys golf second again at fourth leg of WVC tournament

WAUSAU – Kyle Hoffman finished third with a 77 and Josh Berres tied for fifth with an 82 as the Marshfield boys golf team took second at the fourth leg of the Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Golf Tournament on Tuesday at Greenwood Hills Country Club. The meet was hosted by Wausau West.

The Tigers finished second for the third time in the tournament and remains in second place behind Stevens Point in the overall standings. Point finished with a 328, three shots ahead of Marshfield. Wausau East was third with a 334.

Trevor Thomas of Stevens Point had a 73 to win individual honors, finishing one shot ahead of Wausau East’s Matt Thuman.

Ian Pillai tied for seventh for the Tigers with an 83, Craig Serchen shot an 89 and Derek Michalski had a 91 for Marshfield.

The fifth leg of the tournament is Friday at Merrill.
