NEILLSVILLE – Neillsville scored 10 runs in the bottom of the first inning and went on to a 14-4 victory over Spencer in a battle of the top two teams in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division baseball standings on Tuesday at Neillsville High School.
Neillsville is now 11-1 overall and 10-0 in the Cloverbelt East, while Spencer drops to 10-2 and 9-2 in the conference.
Neal Matson struck out 10 to earn the win for Neillsville. He added two hits and an RBI, and Sam Neville was 3-for-4 with three RBIs for the Warriors.
Alex Brostowitz and Bobby Pilz each had two hits for Spencer.
Spencer plays at Colby on Thursday.
