Marshfield’s Elena Deets places ninth at USA Gymnastics Level 9 Western Championships in Idaho

BOISE, Idaho – Elena Deets, a sixth-grader in the Marshfield School District’s Virtual Program, and daughter of Tim and Cheryl Deets, competed in the USA Gymnastics Level 9 Western Championships in Boise, Idaho, on May 2-3.

Deets, who competes for the Twin City Twister in Champlin, Minn., had an all-around score of 37.075 to finish ninth in the Junior A Division. She took home the Junior A division silver medal on the balance beam with a score of 9.550, finished 10th in the uneven bars with a score of 9.350, and was part of the Region 4 Team that won the Junior A Division team championship.

Deets qualified for the national meet after an all-around score of 36.500 to finish ninth in the Junior A Division of the USAG Level 9 Regional Championship held April 11-13 in Fargo, N.D.
