Colby sweeps doubleheader from Marshfield Columbus Catholic softball

COLBY – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader Friday, losing to Colby 19-3 and 16-1 at Colby High School.

The Dons are now 0-12 overall and in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division. Colby is 3-9 overall and in the conference.

Lauren Derfus had two of Columbus Catholic’s four hits in the first game and Lindsey Schultz doubled and scored for the Dons.

In the second game, Schultz had the only hit for Columbus.

Maddie DeSmet took the loss in both games for the Dons.

Columbus Catholic hosts Neillsville on Monday and hosts Spencer on Tuesday in its final two conference games of the season. The WIAA playoffs begin next Thursday.
