COLBY – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic baseball team continued its hot streak, sweeping a pair from Colby in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division action Friday.
The Dons won 14-9 and 8-0 to improve to 7-5 overall and in the Cloverbelt East. Columbus started the season 0-4.
Colby is now 0-8 overall and in the conference.
Kienan McIntee allowed two runs in four inning to earn the win for the Dons in the first game.
Colby scored seven runs in the fifth and sixth innings to close to with 10-9 before the Dons finished the win off with a four-run seventh.
Tyler Fuerlinger had three hits and McIntee, Matthias Gouin and Bryce DeSmet each had two for the Dons.
In Game 2, Billy Young threw a five-inning, complete-game shutout, allowing just four hits.
McIntee had three hits and Fuerlinger and John Edwards each had two for Columbus.
Colby statistics were not provided.
Columbus Catholic hosts first-place Neillsville on Monday.
