MARSHFIELD – Josh Berres finished fourth with a 78 and the Marshfield boys golf team wrapped up a runner-up finish in the conference with a second-place finish at the seventh and final leg of the Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Golf Tournament on Friday at Riveredge Golf Course.
Stevens Point wrapped up the team title with its sixth tournament victory, shooting a score of 310. Marshfield was second for the sixth time, finishing with a 324.
Craig Serchen tied for sixth with an 80, Ian Pillai and Derek Michalski were among four tied for eighth with 83s, and Kyle Hoffman was 12th with an 84 for the Tigers.
Berres ended up fourth in the overall standings to earn first-team all-Wisconsin Valley Conference honors.
Hoffman ended up sixth, Serchen seventh and Pillai eighth in the standings to grab second-team all-conference accolades. Michalski ended up 17th in the overall standings.
Trevor Thomas of Stevens Point won the overall individual medalist honors. He won two meets, tied for first twice and finished second twice in the seven meets this season.
Marshfield will compete in the WIAA Division 1 regional Tuesday at Stevens Point Country Club.
