SPENCER – Neillsville pitcher Cassandra Craig allowed just two hits and no walks, while striking out eight, to lead the Warriors to an 8-2 Cloverbelt Conference East Division softball win over Spencer on Friday at ARC Park.
Spencer, which had 12 errors in a loss to Greenwood last week, had only three on Friday, but Neillsville took advantage of five walks by Nicki Bruss and pounded out seven hits to improve to 3-0 in the Cloverbelt East. Spencer falls to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
Bruss and Krystal Weier had the lone hits for the Rockets.
Craig, Dessa Karl and Caitlin Pavlac each had two hits for Neillsville.
Spencer’s next game is at Marshfield Columbus next Thursday.
