KRONENWETTER – Kayleigh Kundinger was 4-for-5 with a triple, two RBIs and four runs scored to lead the Auburndale softball team to its second straight victory, a 13-7 Marawood Conference South Division win over Northland Lutheran on Friday.
Heather Nigh had two hits and two runs scored, and Kim Masephol had two hits and two RBIs for the Apaches, who improve to 3-1, 1-1 in the Marawood South. Katie Willfahrt and Kayla Gotz each added two RBIs for Auburndale.
Masephol also grabbed the win on the mound, striking out three and walking four while allowing nine hits and seven earned runs.
Auburndale led 3-0 before putting five runs on the board in the top of the fifth. The Wildcats rallied with a seven-run spot in the bottom of the fifth, but the Apaches were able to put five more on the board over the final two innings to win going away.
