TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Marshfield Clinic Post 54 baseball team was eliminated from the Great Lakes American Legion Regional on Friday, losing to the host team Terre Haute 8-0.

Terre Haute pitcher Austin Hicks tossed a nine-inning complete game, allowing just three hits and three walks, while striking out six.

Caleb Alexander, Nathan Dupee and Trevor Schwecke each had singles to account for Marshfield’s three hits.

Jack Donahue took the loss, allowing eight runs (seven earned) in six innings. He gave up 10 hits and five walks, while striking out two. Bobby Pilz pitched the final two innings for the Blue Devils.

Marshfield finishes the season with a 24-14 record.

Terre Haute went on to beat Napolean, Ohio, on Saturday to stay alive in the double-elimination tournament.

Plover, which defeated Marshfield in the Wisconsin Class AAA state championship game, won its first two games. The Black Sox defeated Terre Haute 8-1 on Thursday and Galesburg, Ill., 4-3, on Friday. Plover played Midland, Mich., in a winners’ bracket game on Saturday night.
