Marshfield girls tennis opens season with third-place finish at Neenah Invitational

NEENAH – The Marshfield girls tennis team opened its 2014 season with a third-place finish at the Neenah Invitational on Tuesday.

The Tigers had three second-place finishes, and also had a third and a fourth at the tournament.

Marshfield’s No. 2 singles player Ashley Schultz, the No. 1 doubles team of Olivia Haessly and Emily Serchen, and the No. 2 doubles team of Martha Kupfer and Jenny Madden finished second for the Tigers.

The No. 3 doubles team of Autumn Packard and Krishna Patel was third, and Hanah Gadke took fourth at No. 4 singles for Marshfield.

Marshfield is off until next Tuesday, Aug. 26, when it hosts La Crosse Central, Menomonie, D.C. Everest in a quadrangular at Boson Courts.

Neenah won the invite with 37 points, with Madison West taking second with 18. Marshfield was third with 17 points.
