CHIPPEWA FALLS – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic soccer team shut out Chippewa Falls McDonell/Eau Claire Regis 2-0 in the Mid-State Soccer Conference opener for both teams Monday at Casper Park.
Sean McCarthy scored both off an assist by Ryan Dieringer and Christian Payant added a goal for the Dons.
Columbus Catholic improves to 2-0-2 overall and will host Tri-County in a Mid-State game at 5 p.m. Thursday at Griese Park.
