Marshfield girls golf sixth at season-opening Clover Valley meet

CADOTT – The Marshfield girls golf team kicked off the defense of its Clover Valley Golf League title it won a year ago by placing sixth among the seven teams at the first meet of the season Wednesday at Whispering Pines Golf Course.

The meet was hosted by Stanley-Boyd.

Molly Field topped Marshfield by tying for fourth with a nine-hole score of 44.

The Tigers had a team score of 211 to take sixth and was five shots from fourth. Osseo-Fairchild won the team title with a 179, eight shots ahead of Eau Claire Regis.

Jordyn Fitzgerald had a 51 and Ana Jensen added a 52 for Marshfield.

Amanda Pederson of Osseo-Fairchild was meet medalist, firing a one-over par 37 to beat teammate McKenzie Wilson by five shots.

Marshfield’s next Clover Valley meet is Sept. 4 at Osseo-Fairchild.
