MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield boys soccer team went 1-0-1 Saturday at the Marshfield Invitational at Griese Park.
The Tigers tied Hortonville 1-1 and routed Holmen 9-1 to get back to the .500 mark at 6-6-2.
Thomas Kruger scored Marshfield’s only goal in the tie with Hortonville at the 20:03 mark. Hortonville’s goal came from Jake Buhler in the 8th minute.
Seven different Tigers scored in the victory over Holmen.
Alex Sainterme and Hunter McManus each had two goals and an assist, and Jake Limmex, Alex Babinski, Ryan Hayes, Luke McCann and Nick Okon also scored for the Tigers.
Marshfield held a 21-1 advantage in shots on goal.
Marshfield plays at Wisconsin Rapids on Tuesday and at Wausau West on Thursday as it gets back to Wisconsin Valley Conference action.
Hortonville won the other game of the tournament, beating Holmen 2-0.
