STEVENS POINT – Two former local high school athletes are now playing volleyball at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Tiffany Stargardt, a 2013 graduate of Marshfield High School, and 2014 Auburndale High School grad Kendra Kundinger are both freshman for the Pointers.
Stargardt has seen action in 21 of the 39 sets and eight of the 11 matches played so far this season by UWSP, contributing 35 kills, four assists, 38 digs, three service aces and eight blocks.
Kundinger as seen limited action, appearing in just one match. She has one assist, one ace and two digs.
The Pointers are 9-2 heading into the St. Norbert College Quad on Wednesday in De Pere. UW-Stevens Point will play St. Norbert and Lawrence University.
UWSP will play in the UW-Eau Claire Tournament on Saturday before opening its Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schedule on Sept. 24 at UW-Oshkosh.
