AUBURNDALE – Auburndale won the first game but couldn’t keep up with Marathon after that, dropping a Marawood Conference South Division volleyball match 3-1 on Tuesday night at Auburndale High School.
Marathon won 22-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-21. The Raiders are now 4-1 in the Marawood South, while Auburndale falls to 3-2.
Shannon Yahnke had 15 kills, Taylor Gotz added eight kills, and Hannah Castellano had 14 digs for the Apaches.
Robyn Brokish added five kills and 10 digs, and Jenna Peplinski had 33 assists for Auburndale.
Emily Kind led Marathon with 30 kills and 13 digs, Amanda Kind added 17 kills, and Julia Anderson had 29 assists for Marathon.
Auburndale plays at the Tomahawk Invitational on Saturday.
