MERRILL – The Marshfield volleyball team extended its winning streak to seven straight in conference play before losing its final match on Saturday at the second Wisconsin Valley Conference tournament of the season.
Marshfield defeated Wisconsin Rapids 25-20, 25-19, 25-17, and Wausau West 15-25, 14-25, 25-16, 25-22, 15-11, before losing to Merrill 25-21, 25-15, 25-12.
The Tigers are now 7-3 in the WVC with two matches remaining. Marshfield plays at D.C. Everest on Tuesday and closes out its regular season Thursday at home against Stevens Point.
Ema Fehrenbach had 29 kills, Stephanie Rhodes had 19 kills and 10 blocks, and Natalie Zuelke added 19 kills for the Tigers.
Anna Ripp had 71 assists, Ellie Fehrenbach added 25 assists, and Sara Dasler had 67 digs to lead Marshfield.
