WAUSAU – The Stratford softball team stands alone on top of the Marawood Conference South Division standings after a 4-0 victory over Wausau Newman Catholic on Thursday.
The Tigers improve to 9-1 overall and 4-0 in the Marawood South after handing Newman (4-1, 3-1 Marawood South) its first loss.
In Marawood baseball action, Newman beat Stratford 8-7 to remain undefeated (6-0, 4-0 Marawood South) and in a first-place tie with Marathon.
Stratford falls to 3-7, 1-3 in the Marawood South.

Stratford hosts Wisconsin Rapids Assumption in both sports on Friday.
