Eau Claire/Altoona scores four in first period, knocks off Marshfield girls hockey

EAU CLAIRE – Eau Claire/Altoona scored four goals in the first period and went on to defeat the Marshfield girls hockey team 5-2 in a nonconference game Saturday at Hobbs Ice Arena.

Four different Stars scored in the first period as Marshfield fell behind 4-0.

Morgan Larson had a pair of unassisted goals in the second period for the Tigers, both coming in the final 1:19 of the period. However, Marshfield couldn’t get any closer.

Alexis Straughan had 40 saves in goal for the Tigers (2-4).

Marshfield’s next game is Tuesday at Northern Edge in Rhinelander for a Great Northern Conference game.
