Stratford girls basketball swarms Tomah

STRATFORD – Stratford’s swarming defense held Tomah to just three made field goals as the Tigers rolled to a 51-12 nonconference girls basketball victory Tuesday night at Stratford High School.

Tomah (0-10) made just one basket in the first half as Stratford (10-4) took a 23-4 lead by the break.

The Tigers made 23 of 32 free throws in the victory, including 17 of 23 in the second half.

Macie Frueh led Stratford with 18 points, including an impressive 9 of 11 at the free throw line. Savannah Schillinger made 6 of 8 free throws and finished with 11 points.

Stratford returns to Marawood Conference South Division action Thursday at Northland Lutheran.
