Marshfield girls hockey knocks off Northland Pines in overtime

EAGLE RIVER – Neill Eichten scored in overtime to lift the Marshfield girls hockey team to a 3-2 road victory over Northland Pines on Monday night at the Eagle River Sports Arena.

Marshfield pulled out to a 2-1 lead on goals by Morgan Larson and Lexi Dupee.

The Eagles’ Kali Ebert tied the game late in the third period, pushing it into overtime.

Eichten’s goal clinched the win for the Tigers, who are now 5-8 overall and 4-3 in the Great Northern Conference. Pines falls to 11-7 and 5-3 in the conference.

Marshfield goalkeeper Alexis Straughan was busy, finishing with 46 saves. Pines outshot the Tigers 48-19.

The Tigers return to action at noon Saturday with a nonconference home game against Hudson.
