Marshfield boys hockey loses at D.C. Everest

WESTON – D.C. Everest built a four-goal lead early in the second period and cruised to a 7-1 victory over Marshfield in a Wisconsin Valley Conference boys hockey game Tuesday night at Greenheck Ice Arena.

Four different Evergreens scored to help them build a 4-0 lead. After Zach Leggon scored Marshfield’s lone goal midway through the second period, D.C. Everest scored three unanswered goals in the third period to put the game away.

D.C. Everest (14-7-1, 6-5 Wisconsin Valley Conference) outshot Marshfield 38-8, with Tigers goalie Haydon Roy-Peterson making 30 saves.

Marshfield (7-15, 1-10 WVC) wraps up its conference season Thursday at home against Wausau East. The Tigers will open WIAA playoff action with a regional semifinal Feb. 17 at home against Altoona.
