NEILLSVILLE – Neillsville dominated the middle two quarters and completed a season-sweep of Spencer, downing the Rockets 46-29 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Friday night at Neillsville High School.
Spencer hung with the Warriors in the first quarter and trailed 10-8 before Neillsville opened up a big lead.
Neillsville outscored Spencer 20-8 in the second quarter and 11-2 in the third to go up 41-18 and cruised to the victory.
Freshman Lexi Baehr hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored eight points for the Rockets (5-14, 4-11 Cloverbelt East).
Nine different Neillsville players scored in a balanced attack led by Kayla Lis’s nine points. Neillsville is now 16-4 and 12-3 in the Cloverbelt East.
Spencer wraps up its Cloverbelt East schedule Monday at home against Greenwood. The Rockets will finish the regular season at home Thursday in a Cloverbelt East-West crossover game against an opponent yet to be determined.
