WESTON – The Marshfield boys basketball team’s hard luck season continued Friday, losing in overtime at D.C. Everest 47-44.
Marshfield drops to 6-14 overall and 2-8 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. Eight of the Tigers’ losses have been by eight points or less and this was the third time Marshfield lost in overtime this season.
D.C. Everest is now 12-7 overall and 6-4 in the WVC after completing the season-sweep over Marshfield.
Everest led 32-24 after three quarters before the Tigers stormed back with a 17-9 run to force overtime.
However, in the extra four-minute period, Marshfield managed just three points.
Seven different Tigers scored in a balanced attack with Tanner Boson leading the way with nine points.
Riley Peterson and Jake Gebert each had 13 points for D.C. Everest.
The Tigers finish their regular-season schedule with home games against Wausau East on Feb. 20 and Wausau West on Feb. 26. Both games will be broadcast on WDLB-AM 1450 and wdlbwosq.com. The WIAA Division 1 playoffs begin March 6.
