SPENCER – The Spencer girls basketball team closed out its Cloverbelt Conference East Division schedule with a 49-44 victory over Greenwood on Monday night at Spencer High School.
Freshman Lexi Baehr hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 13 points to lead Spencer, which improves to 6-15 overall and finishes 5-11 and in sixth place in the Cloverbelt East. Nadia King added 10 points and Liz Endreas scored 10 for the Rockets.
Greenwood is now 4-16 overall and ends up 3-13 and in seventh place in the conference.
Spencer will play in a Cloverbelt Conference East-West crossover sixth-place game on Thursday at home against a team to be determined. The Rockets open postseason play with a WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal on Feb. 24 at Edgar. The playoff game will be broadcast on WOSQ-FM 92.3 and wdlbwosq.com at 7 p.m.
