AMHERST – Jake Reif scored 28 points and the Stratford boys basketball grabbed a big road win, knocking off Amherst 69-59 in overtime in a nonconference game Tuesday night at Amherst High School.
Reif was a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line and went 8-for-13 from the field to lead the Tigers (13-8).
Michael Bargender added 12 points and 10 rebounds for Stratford.
Stratford led 21-19 at halftime and Amherst (16-4) managed to tie the game after three quarters. Each team scored 17 points in the fourth quarter to force overtime before the Tigers outscored Amherst 18-8 in the extra four-minute period.
