Marshfield boys tennis falls to Menomonie in season opener

MENOMONIE – The Marshfield boys tennis team opened its 2015 season by dropping a 4-3 nonconference match at Menomonie on Tuesday.

The Tigers swept the three doubles matches, but lost all four singles matches, three in straight sets.

Bryce Gadke and Jacob Limmex won at No. 1 doubles 6-4, 6-2; Dylan Handrich and Sam Trudeau teamed to win at No. 2 doubles 7-6, 6-4; and Austin Christianson and Jared Draxler won 6-4, 2-6, 6-3, at No. 3 doubles for Marshfield.

The Tigers open their Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet season Thursday at Wausau West.
