MARSHFIELD – After two consecutive shutouts, the Marshfield girls soccer team was able to turn the tables, scoring three goals in the first half and defeated Chippewa Falls 3-0 in a nonconference match Friday at Griese Park.
Charlotte Urban, Ciera Niefeld and Maddie Haessly scored goals for the Tigers in the first half of the victory. Marshfield is now 2-2 this season.
Andrea Carolfi had to make just three saves in goal for Marshfield as it dominated defensively as well.
“We have been working this past week on finishing and it was great to see five different players get into the scoring column for us,” Marshfield coach Steve Lindner said. “The stress this week was shooting and positive touches on the ball and winning challenge balls. I think we showed some nice progress and picked things up as a team.”
Marshfield returns to action Tuesday when it plays at Stevens Point.
