Spencer baseball pounds out 10 hits in win over Columbus Catholic

SPENCER – Bobby Pilz allowed just three hits in six innings to earn the victory as Spencer topped Marshfield Columbus Catholic 8-2 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division baseball game Thursday at Spencer High School.

Pilz struck out eight and walked one, allowing two unearned runs to grab the win.

Mitch Susa was 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI, Jonny Tomke added two hits and an RBI, and Ryan Busse had two hits and one RBI for Spencer, which won for the eighth time in a row.

Kienan McIntee suffered the loss to Columbus (4-6 overall and Cloverbelt East), striking out eight and walking three.

Spencer hosts Granton on Friday, while Columbus Catholic plays at home against Neillsville. Both games start at 5 p.m.
