MERRIL – Derek Michalski shot an 81 to tie for seventh as the Marshfield boys golf team finished in fourth at the fifth leg of the 2015 Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Golf Tournament on Friday at Merrill Golf Course.
Zach Shortess shot an 85 to tie for 11th, Brandon Nikolai had an 86, Jordan Schlinsog shot an 87 and Grant Michaelis had an 88 for the Tigers, who finished with a team score of 339.
Stevens Point won again to maintain its lead in the team standings with a 322, six shots ahead of Wausau East and 11 in front of Wausau West.
Matt Tuman of East and D.C. Everest’s Derek Tomczik shot 76s to tie for medalist honors. Tuman remains in the lead in the overall standings.
The sixth leg of the tournament will be Tuesday at RiverEdge Golf Course in Marshfield.
